If at any time there is no quorum of judges of the Supreme Court available to hold or continue any session of the Court , the Chief Justice of India is empowered to appoint ad-hoc judges in the Supreme Court from among judges of the High Courts , having qualifications to be appointed judges of the Supreme Court , for such period as he deems necessary .
यदि किसी समय उच्चतम न्यायालय के सत्र को आयोजित करने या चालू रखने के लिए उस न्यायालय के न्यायाधीशों की गणपूर्ति उपलब्ध न हो तो भारत के मुख्य न्यायमूर्ति को अधिकार है वह किसी उच्च न्यायालय के ऐसे न्यायाधीशों में से जो उच्चतम न्यायालय के न्यायाधीशों के रूप में नियुक्त किए जाने की योग्यता रखते हों , उच्चतम न्यायालय में तदर्थ न्यायाधीशों की नियुक्ति उतनी अवधि के लिए कर सकता है जितनी वह आवश्यक समझे .
