Amphidiploid roses including " Rosa kordesii " have been used to some degree in breeding programs in combination with naturally occurring tetraploid roses.
In the latter case, these are known as allopolyploids ( or amphidiploids, which are allopolyploids that behave as if they were normal diploids ).
