I understand Hard-drives don't just write / re-write over the same area of the drive and so deleted files can be recovered because they are in a portion of the hard-drive that is'unseeable in the os'but has not had the files overwritten by other data, obviously eventually the hard-drive will need that space for something else and then it will be overwritten . ny156uk 11 : 28, 4 February 2007 ( UTC)
