If we call the gene determining the size of the plant Y , there will be located somewhere in the appropriate chromosome pair in the body cell of the organism two variants of this gene because the initiating zygote has two sets of chromosomes , one each from either parent .
यदि पौधे के आकारा को निर्धारित करने वाले जीन को Y कहा जाता है तो जीव की कायिक कोशिका के गुणसूत्रों की विशिष्ट जोड़ी में इस जीन के दो भिन्न रूप उपस्थित होंग ; क़्योंकि प्रारंभ के युग़्मज में गुणसूत्रों के दो सेट होते हैं जिनमें एक गुणसूत्र पिता से तथा दूसरा मां से प्राप्त किया जाता है .
