The Civil Procedure Code defines the jurisdiction of the civil courts in regard to various kinds of suits for example , suits by or against the Government or public officers acting in their official capacity , suits by aliens and by or against foreign rulers , ambassadors and envoys , suits relating to different matters like public nuisance and other wrongful acts affecting the public , suits relating to public charity , etc . , are specially dealt with .
   इस संहिता में विभिन्न प्रकार के वादों के संबंध में सिविल न्यायालयों की अधिकारिता को परिनिश्चित किया गया है- उदाहरण के लिए , सरकार या अधिकाधिक हैसियत में कार्यरत लोक अधिकारियों द्वारा अथवा उनके विरुद्ध वाद , अन्यदेशीय लोगों अथवा विदेशी शासकों , राजदूतों और दूतों द्वारा या उनके विरुद्ध वादों , लोक न्यूसेंस तथा जनता को प्रभावित करने वाले सदोष कृत्य जैसे विभिन्न मामलों से संबंधित वाद , और लोक पूर्त कर्म आदि से संबंधित वाद आदि पर विशेष प्रकार से कार्रवाई की जाती है .
2. Third, the archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams , endorsed applying portions of the Islamic law (the Shari'a) in Great Britain. Adopting its civil elements, he explained , “seems unavoidable” because not all British Muslims relate to the existing legal system and applying the Shari'a would help with their social cohesion. When Muslims can go to an Islamic civil court, they need not face “the stark alternatives of cultural loyalty or state loyalty.” Continuing to insist on the “legal monopoly” of British common law rather than permit Shari'a, Williams warned, would bring on “a bit of a danger” for the country.
   तीसरा कैन्टरबरी के आर्कविशप ने इस्लामी कानून शरियत के कुछ भागों को ग्रेट ब्रिटेन में लागू करने की सहमति दी । उन्होंने इसकी व्याख्या करते हुए कहा कि इसके सभ्य तत्वों को शामिल करने की उपेक्षा नहीं की जा सकती क्योंकि सभी ब्रिटिश मुसलमान स्थापित कानूनी व्यवस्था के साथ सांमजस्य स्थापित नहीं कर पाते और शरियत को लागू करने से उनका सामाजिक संश्लेषण हो सकेगा। जब मुसलमान इस्लामी सिविल अदालत में जायेगा तो उसे सांस्कृतिक स्वामिभक्ति और राज्य स्वामिभक्ति के मध्य भयानक विकल्पों का सामना नहीं करना होगा । विलियम्स ने चेतावनी दी है कि ब्रिटिश सामान्य कानून के एकाधिकार पर जोर देते रहने और शरियत की अनुमति न देने से देश के सक्षम एक खतरा उत्पन्न हो जायेगा।
