Nitrobacter fixes carbon dioxide via the Calvin cycle for their carbon requirements.
"Nitrobacter " may either be rod shaped, pear-shaped or pleomorphic.
"Nitrobacter " plays an important role in the nitrogen cycle by oxidizing nitrite into nitrate in soil.
For example, nitrifying bacteria such as " Nitrobacter " oxidize nitrite to nitrate, donating the electrons to oxygen.
