वास्तव में भीड़ , ट्रैफिक और पार्किंग जैसे व्यावहारिक मुद्दे उठाकर इस्लामी संस्थानों का विरोध करना सामान्य बात है । 1991 में एक सहायक लेखक के साथ किये अध्ययन में मैंने स्वयं पाया था कि यूरोप और अमेरिका में यह परिपाटी सामान्य है और तबसे अब तक नियमित हो गई है । तथ्य यह है कि इस्लाम संस्थान चाहे विद्यालय हों या मस्जिद हां वहीं कट्टरता और यहां तक कि हिंसा की भी परिपाटी है । ये चिंतायें वैद्य हैं और इन्हें खुलकर व्यक्त किया जाना चाहिए। विद्यालय के कुलपति जोएल क्लीन में आश्वासन दिया है कि यदि कोई विद्यालय धार्मिक विद्यालय बनता है तो उसे बन्द कर दिया जायेगा और उन्होंने यह भी है कहा है कि वे राजनीतिक एजेन्डे के साथ किसी राजनीतिक विद्यालय को स्वीकार नहीं करेंगे ।
