पहले हम इस चर्चा से आरम्भ करते हैं कि इस घटना के क्या परिणाम नहीं होंगे? इससे अमेरिका के विचारों में एकता नहीं आयेगी , यदि 11 सितम्बर के पश्चात “हम एक हैं” का भाव घटना के कुछ महीनों तक टिका था तो बोस्टन के बाद इस आम सहमति की कल्पना भ्रम ही है। इस हिंसा के पश्चात भी अमेरिका में इजरायल जैसी सुरक्षा के लिये कदम नहीं उठाये जायेंगे। इसके चलते अचानक जिहाद की घटनाओं के रोग को रोकने के लिये भी कोई विशेष तैयारी नहीं होगी। इसके पश्चात भी गैर मुस्लिमों के विरुद्ध मुस्लिमों द्वारा की जाने वाली लगातार हिंसा के उद्देश्य को लेकर विवाद समाप्त नहीं होगा। साथ ही निश्चित रूप से इसके चलते आप्रवास और बन्दूक को लेकर चल रही बहस को सुलझाने में भी सहायता नहीं मिलेगी।
