Capt . Jines was killed June 24, 1965 in a mid air collision involving two A-1E propellar planes and two F-100 jets.
The announcement sparked some confusion among fans who saw the series running chronologically up to this point since the announcement of this album came right after Buckethead had announced Propellar which skipped through Pike 13 entirely.
He later was transferred to Laredo, TX and then to Hurlburt, FL, where he was instrumental in the A1 training program, which used propellar aircraft to do much of the air to ground support combat in Southeast Asia.
The album was hinted at when Buckethead announced " The Mark of Davis " shortly after announcing " Propellar ", leaving a gap between both albums leading people to speculate about the missing " Pike 13 " album.
