Aristophanes refers to Bupalus in The Lysistrata.
At Smyrna, for instance, in the sanctuary of the Attalus, are other images of Graces made by Bupalus; and near what is called the Pythium there is a portrait of Graces, painted by Pythagoras the Parian.
