The Middle East, due to its centrality and geography, has experienced more than its share of invasions, including the Greek, Roman, Arabian, Crusader, Seljuk, Timurid, Mongolian, and modern European. Within the region, dynastic froth caused the same territory - Egypt for example - to be conquered and re-conquered. Many wars over Jerusalem: Emperor Titus celebrated his victory over the Jews in 70 A.D. with an arch showing Roman soldiers carrying off a menorah from the Temple.
मध्य पूर्व को अपनी केंद्रीय स्थिति और भौगोलिक अवस्था के चलते आक्रमणों का अधिक अंश झेलना पडा जिसमें कि ग्रीक, रोमन, अरबी, क्रूसेडर, सेलजुक, तिमुरिद, मंगोलियाई और आधुनिक यूरोप शामिल हैं। क्षेत्र के भीतर भी राजवंशों ने इसी प्रकार अनेक राज्यक्षेत्र बनाये उदाहरण के लिये मिस्र को अनेक बार जीता गया।
